Another thing is that, if you are only learning words through anime but not having an idea on how to write it (especially there are foreign words that looks like natural Japanese, example: toroimerai) then you won’t really progress at all. That’s it.
Learning Japanese through anime is not really an effective way because it only means that you just rely on what the subtitle says to know the meaning. Like that, you thought こんにちは is “How are you doing” (it might be from the subtitle) but it means no other than hello/hi or good afternoon. Also, most of the anime uses Kansai-ben which is not usable just at any situation.
